Companion Animal Services

One of the most essential services we have to offer to you at Wingrove Veterinary is preventative medicine - keeping your pet well and diagnosing problems early. The most important aspects of preventive medicine is regular examinations and appropriate vaccinations.

During a comprehensive examination our veterinarians are able to recognize early signs of disease or other problems that need attention. With you as an advocate for your pet, the vet is better able to diagnose and provide the best treatment.

Vaccinations are also essential in maintaining your pet's good health, as they provide protection against many common and possibly life threatening diseases. There has been great controversy recently surrounding vaccination protocols and for this reason we have also re-examined our vaccination policies. There is no clear answer as to how much vaccinating is too much or how far you can cut back yet not leave your pets at risk. At Wingrove we have always believed that what needs to be considered foremost is your particular pet and his/her associated risk. We want to do what is best for each individual pet. At the annual examination appointment, our veterinarians will discuss your pets relative risk and overall health and together with you decide which vaccinations are most appropriate. For we know that healthy pets make lifelong friends.

In the event that your pet should become sick or hurt, we have the trained staff, the facility and the equipment to diagnose and treat your pets appropriately. With our own veterinarians on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week ,  you are able to reach us when you need us.

We offer a fully stocked pharmacy,  including some alternative, homeopathic and natural products. Our surgery room is outfitted with a blood pressure monitor, endoscopy unit, Elman Radiowave Scalpel, orthopedic surgery instruments and anesthetic machines which only deliver isofluorane (as opposed to some of the other gas anesthetics that are not quite as safe)

Wingrove provides extra services such as dentistries, ultrasonography, chiropractics, grooming, obedience classes and behaviour consultations. Our veterinarians routinely do x-rays for OVC and OFA certification as well as other services necessary to breeders. We offer CKC registered breeders a kennel discount and a reduced vaccination rate for those clients bringing in more than three pets.

We are also certified as a mobile veterinary clinic to do housecalls for your convenience and your pets' comfort. Our staff all recognize how important your pets are to you and try to make every visit pleasant. Providing you with the best service is not the only thing that is important to us.
